Easy Char Siu (Chinese BBQ pork 

Char Siu, or Chinese BBQ Pork, is a beloved dish renowned for its savory, sweet, and slightly charred flavors. For the Marinade:

  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or maltose
  • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine (or a dry sherry as a substitute)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
