There is something truly special about living in the countryside — especially in the peaceful landscapes of south Sweden. Open fields, quiet mornings, fresh air, and the gentle rhythm of farm life create a kind of calm that is hard to describe unless you have experienced it yourself.
I love my little house that I rent on a farm here. It is small — much smaller than what I used to live in — but it feels bigger in all the ways that truly matter.
Choosing Less, Gaining More
When I moved into this tiny cottage, I made a big decision: I sold and gave away most of my possessions. At first, it felt emotional. We often attach memories to objects. But once they were gone, something unexpected happened — I felt lighter.
Living in a small space teaches you quickly that every item must have a purpose. There is no room for “just in case” things. And honestly, it is freeing.
One of the greatest joys? Cleaning is so much easier. There are no large surfaces collecting dust. No extra rooms waiting to be vacuumed. My home takes little time to care for, which leaves more time to enjoy life outside — walking in nature, listening to birds, watching the changing seasons over the fields.
